A busy strike day

Schools closed all over the country means not many supply teachers needed. That means no work for Mr B, although it also means no pay… Still, a busy day updating this website and modding my Apple iBook! ;)

Most of the features have been transferred from the old site to the new, but I’d appreciate it if you notice anything that needs tweaking or updating. I’m aware of the question-mark problem, where the database inserts the wrong character. There’s not a lot I can do about that, I’m afraid - a search-and-replace would really mess things up! :p

What else have I been doing today? Making my iBook wireless without paying around £120 for the official Apple card. Read more at my [3] techblog:)

Hi Doug,

Love the new look. One thing you might want to fix, if you go to the old URL you get the new design, but a 404 error in the main frame. One of these days I’ll get round to moving coolhistory over to Edupress - any tips from your move?

Dave

Thanks Dave. I don’t know what to do about the 404 error really - I’ve tried updating my .htaccess file (which is why the old URL’s redirect to the new ones) but I’m a bit stumped with the main page. I’ll give it another go tonight.

Tips for moving over to EduPress? BACK UP! Seriously, make sure you’ve got about 50 copies of everything you could possibly need - your files, database, everything. Then if you do accidentally misconfigure something you can still sort it out! :D
