He says ..."I suppose the worry is that if everyone is ‘educated’ (if 50% of the population hold degrees?) then who’s going to clean the toilets?" well, Haven't you heard? people don't do one job throughout their lives these days, they have portfolios of many jobs which fit in with whatever their life experience may be. So, toilet cleaners may be people who are currently working on said degrees for instance . Besides, why assume people get educated simply for career reasons? There is life beyond work you know.
