teaching.mrbelshaw.co.uk …Doug Belshaw’s teaching-related blog: news, resources and ideas for busy teachers!
  • Animated Education Statistics

I was just wondering about the link between the amount of money schools spend on education vs. literacy levels and came across gapminder.org. If you do CTRL-F and type ‘education’ it’ll take you straight to animated graphs for various international things to do with education (hint: click on the tabs at the top to switch between graphs!) You can animate the graphs seeing how they’ve changed each year since 1970 by pressing the play button. The software is also available for download for off-line use.
Update: it’s even better at tools.google.com/gapminder – much clearer and interactive! (no education stats though…)
