A new 24-hour (Catholic) school is being built in Sydney, Australia. The 1700 students aged from nursery-age to ‘Year 12′ will have access to their work at all times via ‘personal learning spaces’ on the Internet. The school will be open from 6am to 10pm with staff providing online tutorials from 8pm to 10pm. The hope is that greater flexibility, use of technology, and ‘integrated lessons’ will reduce truancy and raise achievement and engagement. Sounds like a good idea - I wonder how it will pan out?
