I’ve just received an email from Google Teacher Center which is a Google Group I must have signed up to at some point (can’t remember when!). They have announced Google For Educators, which I haven’t seen before. It seems to basically bring together 12 tools which may be used by educators for the benefit of their learners: from video search to Blogger, Google Maps to the new Docs & Spreadsheets. The one I’m most excited about, however, is Google Apps for Education where Google is actively encouraging schools to sign their entire student population for GMail accounts (with chat disabled if necessary) along with Google Calendar, Page Creator, etc. I might just print off a copy and put it on the Head’s desk… :D
