I’ve just received an email from [2] Google Teacher Center which is a Google Group I must have signed up to at some point (can’t remember when!). They have announced [3] Google For Educators, which I haven’t seen before. It seems to basically bring together 12 tools which may be used by educators for the benefit of their learners: from video search to Blogger, Google Maps to the new Docs & Spreadsheets. The one I’m most excited about, however, is [4] Google Apps for Education where Google is actively encouraging schools to sign their entire student population for [5] GMail accounts (with chat disabled if necessary) along with Google Calendar, Page Creator, etc. I might just print off a copy and put it on the Head’s desk… :D
