I haven’t had loads of time to read blog posts this week. I do have a couple of excuses, however: a) My wife’s currently 36 hours into a rather protracted labour and the baby still doesn’t seem like it wants to come (there’s not a lot I can do!), and b) I’ve set up a new blog – edtechroundup.com – to post everything that’s a bit too in depth on the educational technology front for this one. That said, there been a few blog posts that have caught my eye this week… :)

• Dan Sutch (Flux blog) – School leaders/managers/leaders (investigates the difference between ‘leadership’ and ‘management’ in schools and why it matters)
• Ewan McIntosh – Why handheld learning shouldn’t be about laptops or even giving kids kit (a post with which I found myself nodding in agreement: students should be able to use a variety of equipment – including their own – in any large-scale projects involving educational technology. Amen!
• Martin Owen (Flux blog) – The learning now arriving at platform… (looks at how the learning platforms that should be in place in UK schools by 2008 are complete anathema to those who look at things from a Web 2.0 and a ’small pieces, loosely joined’ approach)
• Miles Berry – 2020 Vision and Personalisation (a lengthy post about the recent 2020 report on personalised learning which criticises it for mainly identifying current good practice and giving everyone else 13 years to catch up…)
• Scott Mcleod – The results are in! (gives the interesting results of the edublogger survey, which comprised 160 bloggers. I’ve also mentioned this over at edtechroundup.com)
