Better presentations – by people who know what they’re talking about
8 CommentsThere’s a great post over at Lifehacker where they explore ways in which you can become a bit more ’slick’ when presenting. This could be to your classes, to fellow colleagues or, if you’re A Big Cheese, to people elsewhere in the country/world. Definitely worth a read, if not for the links to free downloads, then just for the ideas! :)

Thanks Doug, that is a great set of tools. I love the zoom app for Windows, mostly just for the timer it comes with.
I only just stopped subscribing to Lifehacker the other day because I thought there was too much guff I didn’t use, I may have to reconsider…

Excellent resource, and I would like to say a loud AMEN to point #1. I have been occupying that soapbox for so long I’ve set down roots!

@Stuart: Lifehacker’s great – why you’d want to unsubscribe from it is beyond me! There’s a ‘best of’ RSS feed if your reader’s getting too full… :)
@Karyn: Bullet points can be boring, but they can also be used well – it all depends on the presenter’s style. Unfortunately in many cases it’s not a question of what kind of style, it’s a question of having any semblance of style other than a rambling incoherent mess. ;)

Hi Doug,
Love what your doing here, given me lots to think about so big thanks!
Have you seen Seth Godin’s “really bad powerpoint” e-booklet? It’s very true!
